Dear Camden, 6 months old. Half a year. Wow! I just can't believe it. Wasn't it just yesterday you were my little 6lb newborn all snuggled up on my chest?! You make daddy and I so happy every day. You are most certainly the light of our lives. You make us smile each and every day. Though life is crazy and stressful we can't imagine life without you. You're amazing and we absolutely love being a family of 3. You are quite squirmy these days - constantly on the move. You roll all over the place and can scoot across the floor to get what you want!! You love watching everything and everyone that's around you - you just love to soak everything up and want to understand what's going on & how things work. You're still a super low-key kinda dude but we still get plenty of smiles and laughs out of you. You're also quite the chatter box these days - babbling away and talking to us all the time. However, you can be shy/apprehensive around people you aren't familiar with but warm up pretty quickly. We get stopped all the time when we're out and about. People are just drawn to you - they say how adorable you are and what beautiful eyes you have (and we couldn't agree more!!) You are most definitely the most handsome little 6 month old that we know <3 Now that the weather is nice we've been trying to get outside as much as possible. You seem to enjoy being outside which makes us very happy since we love the outdoors as well. We are pretty excited to take you to all the festivals that we have around here. We love being able to include you and introduce you to the things we enjoy doing. We hope to make a lot of really great, fun family traditions!! We've started the solid food journey with you and mommy and daddy are pretty nervous about it all. But you tried cereal for the first time tonight and you seem to enjoy it. I'm not surprised - just look at us...we love food and we're pretty sure you will too!!! Keep on doing what you're doing bubba. You are so very loved and make mommy and daddy so very happy. You're an amazing little boy and we couldn't be happier or more proud to be your parents. We love you Camden Matthew!! Love, Mommy & Daddy WEIGHT - At today's 6 month pediatrician appointment he weighed 12lbs 4.2oz - 0% (he's not even on the charts for his weight!)
LENGTH - he grew a ton since his 4 month check up - he's now 26" long - 33% HAIR - the same as last month. It's definitely lightened up a lot - some days I even see a little red in it but I think he'll have dirty blonde hair. EYES - still blue and BIG!! Everyone compliments him on his eyes - he's got his daddy's beautiful eyes <3 CLOTHES - 0-3 and 3 months for Carters clothes. I've noticed some of his 0-3 pants are getting short on him though. But hopefully with the warmer weather 0-3 shorts will be perfect for him. DIAPERS - size 2 diapers SLEEP - still sleeps great! His naps vary some days - sometimes he'll have a great morning nap but not a great afternoon nap and sometimes it's the opposite. Also, the last few nights he's had a hard time going down. We often have to rub his back to calm him down so he'll fall asleep. This past week he has also woken up during the night and needed his back rubbed in order to fall back to sleep. However, he did great last night so hopefully we're back on track (fingers crossed for us please!) DISLIKES - being tired, waiting to be fed (he gets VERY whiny!) LIKES - his feet, getting sung to (his favorite songs are You Are My Sunshine, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Row Row Row Your Boat, and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) hair (mine, his own...pretty much anyone's!), going for walks in the stroller, playing with all his toys (his favorites are Mr Crinkles still, his Vtech remote control, balls, and his Fisher Price puppy), and getting tickled (well maybe not but he does giggle when we do it so he's gotta like it, right?!) :) EATING - the same and tonight we gave him some oatmeal cereal for the first time!! He seemed to really like it and did great with it!! I'm not so sure I'm ready for this next adventure - he's growing up too fast!! Also recently I feel like he doesn't want to nurse. He nurses GREAT in the morning but come bedtime he just doesn't want anything to do with it. This makes me soooo sad. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up nursing and yet I think he's getting to that point. MILESTONES - he has mastered rolling and 'scooching' - there's no stopping this kid! He's a wiggle worm like you wouldn't believe. He babbles and talks all the time - but when someone new is around he gets super quiet. He still isn't sitting up on his own - he'll do it for a few seconds but that's about it. He'll also stand up against our ottoman for a few seconds by himself. He understands certain words as well - he definitely knows what we're talking about when we say 'ba-ba' (bottle), 'eat', 'hungry', 'more', and 'up'. OTHER - He's doing pretty good with his swim lessons. I still wouldn't say he likes it but he tolerates the water. I think he'd enjoy it more if the water was warmer. The last 3 sessions we've dunked him - oh the face on that kid after we do that to him!!! It's hysterical and heart wrenching all at the same time!! His heart murmur sounded the same today so I'm interested to see what the pediatric cardiologist says when we go on the 27th.

Sunday was my 1st Mother's Day...AND my 33rd birthday!! It was such a nice day. Camden woke up around 6 but Matt got up with him so I could sleep until 7. Matt cooked me breakfast while I nursed Camden - some super yummy chocolate chip pancakes with a side of fresh fruit!! It was all so good!! Then I opened up my cards and gifts - it was such a perfect morning with my boys. I feel so lucky to have these two in my life...I just love them to pieces!! I hit up my 9 o'clock Pilates class at the gym then headed home to get ready for our busy day!! After I fed Camden at 11 we packed up and headed to Matt's parents house to celebrate Mother's Day. We just hung out and ate a lot of really great food and enjoyed each other's company!! After that we met up with my parents and sister, BIL, and nephew. It was so nice to be able to fit everyone in and be able to celebrate the day with our families. It makes for a hectic busy day but I know how lucky we are that we're able to do this! I also got to get crafty with my little guy making gifts for his Nana and Mimi! I painted a mason jar and then put his hand print on it. I attached a little poem and gave them some flowers to go along with it. I think they turned out so cute - what do you think?! I hope everyone had a very Happy Mother's Day and a FANTASTIC weekend <3
