Camden had a great 1st Easter!! Holidays are so much more fun with a little one <3
We started the day off with going to Church and then headed to brunch with my family. It was so great spending time with everyone - not to mention getting to eat some super yummy food!! After that we headed to my parents' house. There we hung out with them along with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. The boys had so much fun opening their Easter baskets from Nana and Papa. After that, we headed to Matt's grandparents to spend some time with all his family. Everyone loved seeing Camden and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them all. Even though it was a long, tiring day we are grateful we are able to spend the holidays with our families!! Here are a few pictures - enjoy!!!

Dear Camden, Wow! 5 months old. What have I told you?! You need to stop growing up so fast! :) I know I say this every month but you are truly a joy. You bring mommy and daddy so much happiness - it's incredible. You are such an amazingly easy, happy-go-lucky little boy - we really lucked out with you. You are learning something new every day and it's amazing to watch you grow and become your own person. Your personality really shines through these days - as I've mentioned before you're a super laid-back kinda guy...no doubt you take after your daddy in this aspect :) You give us the biggest smiles and your giggle is one of my most favorite sounds ever. You are super sweet and love giving hugs and snuggles. You always want to know what's going on around you - always soaking everything up. You are really on the move now - rolling all over the place!! We are working on sitting up - we are so impressed on how well you are doing with this already - you're amazing!!! You hardly ever cry and you sleep like a champ (most of the time!) You've become quite attached to your paci - but pretty much only at nap and bedtime or when you're fussy because you are sleepy. We successfully transitioned you out of your beloved swaddle. This was a pretty easy transition and I think you enjoy a bit more freedom to move around. With that being said, you are now ALL over the place in your crib (upside down...sides...) and we find you sleeping on your belly most of the time these days. Keep on doing what you're doing little guy. You make so many people incredibly happy - you are SO loved!!! Mommy and daddy love you more than we can say... WEIGHT - Since we don't go to the pediatrician until he's 6 months I'm guessing he's about 12 pounds - give or take a few ounces.
LENGTH - no idea - but if I had to guess I'd say around 24"-24.5" HAIR - still has lots of hair and it's definitely getting lighter EYES - still blue which makes mommy very happy :) CLOTHES - he has a couple pairs of newborn pants and sleepers that he can still wear but everything else is 0-3. He has a lot of Carters clothes that are 3 months that I do put him in but they're big on him. DIAPERS - size 2 diapers - they're big in the waist but they contain more (ie fewer outfit changes!LOL) SLEEP - still sleeps great!! We have successfully transitioned him out of a swaddler and he is now in a Zipadee-Zip (found here) He still takes a morning and afternoon nap that range anywhere from an hour each to two hours. Some days he will also take a quick cat nap for about a half an hour around 5pm. At night he's usually asleep by 7:15 and sleeps until 6:30-7am. The last couple nights have been rough but I think he may have a tooth coming in or going through a growth spurt. DISLIKES - being tired and hungry (can you blame him?!), getting off schedule, and taking good naps for Daddy :) LIKES - his feet, pulling his socks off, snuggling, being sung to, Mr Crinkles, rolling all around, and watching everything going on around him. EATING - the same as last month MILESTONES - he's a non-stop rolling machine these days!! He can also sit up by himself for a few seconds and has officially found his feet (which he LOVES!) BABY ITEMS WE CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT - his Tommee Tippee pacis, Mr Crinkles , and his Zipadee-Zip OTHER - We have started using sign language around him. Right now we're just doing the signs for up, eat, please, more, and finished. He also started swim lessons this past Saturday. I wouldn't say he enjoyed being in the water but he tolerated it so that's a win in my books! NO ONE TOLD ME...
...how TRULY hard it is to be a working mom. ....how much guilt you have as a new mom. ...how one second you're beaming ear to ear because your baby did something new and the next second you're bawling your eyes out because they're growing up too fast. ...how badly I'd wish I could be in two places at once - ALL the time. ...how your heart breaks and yet fills with happiness at the same time when your son sees his nanny and gives her the BIGGEST smile every morning. ...how jealous and frustrated I'd feel every single day because there are so many things I wish were different and yet there's nothing I can do about it. ...just HOW quickly your newborn grows up. It's so true - in the blink of an eye your newborn is now a baby who is giggling and rolling over and sitting up by himself. ...birthing the baby was the EASY part - it's the rest that's really hard. ...that I'd feel as if everyone was judging me every day about everything. ...that no matter how hard you try you'll never be able to do it all. ...how hard a new mom is on herself. ...that even with all that - a simple snuggle from your baby makes it ALL worth it. So mommies.... KEEP CALM... ....AND SNUGGLE YOUR BABY <3 |
