Last week was Spring Break and lucky for me - I was able to take the week off as well!! It doesn't usually work out that I'm able to take the same week as Matt's Spring Break. But this year it worked out and we spent a glorious week together!! On Good Friday we went to my parents to color Easter Eggs, have an egg hunt, and enjoy a family dinner. On Saturday we just hung out at home and of course on Sunday had a very HOPPY Easter :) Camden was so, so excited and absolutely LOVED searching for Easter eggs!! We had brunch with my mom's family then went to Matt's parents' house to celebrate with all of them. We spent the night there Sunday and got home Monday afternoon. We had so much fun celebrating the holiday and being with our families. On Tuesday we decided to drive to Buffalo and check out the Buffalo zoo. It is such an awesome zoo and Camden was in all his glory!! He absolutely LOVED It (as did we!!) We ended up staying in Buffalo and Camden thought it was so cool so stay in a hotel and LOVED being able to swim in the pool. He was so sad to leave and kept asking to go back to the hotel to swim. We spent the rest of the week at home - relaxing, playing, going to the Strong Museum, the library, 'the big, big, big playground' and indulging in all sorts of treats (I swear Matt and I are now 5lbs heavier - oops ha-ha) It was a great week with my little family and we all soaked it all up. I couldn't love these two boys more!!

This weekend was fantastic if I do say so myself. One of those weekends that's just good for the soul - full of memories, and sun, and laughter. Can we please go back?! Saturday morning Camden and I just hung out and played while Matt worked out. We showered and got ready to meet up with some friends for a Bunny Scavenger Hunt!! The sun was shining but it was still pretty cold and MUDDY....so, so much mud!!! But it was a super cute event - live bunnies, crafts, a train ride, the Easter Bunny, and an ice cream sundae for the kids!! We got home around 1, I put Camden down for a nap and I headed out for a run!! It was perfect running weather at that point and I FINALLY got a 6 mile run in. It was absolutely GLORIOUS!! After nap we just hung out, went Aldis for some groceries, and played at home. Saturday night for Matt and I consisted of pizza and TV - wild 'n' crazy we are.... Sunday morning we just played and I was finally able to dust Camden's bedroom (I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't even remember the last time I did it - oops!) I headed off to my Barre/Pilates class (which has changed slightly and I LOVE it even more!! They've added some HIIT to the class and it's legit amazing - I'm obsessed!) and then hit up Sam's Club quick. I got home and spent time with Camden playing outside. He filled our bellies with delicious pancakes, cupcakes, coffee, and sandwiches (we have a play house in the yard that he LOVES to play in and cook for us ha-ha) I put C down for a nap and spent the entire 2 hours outside laying in the sun, reading a book, drinking my Butter Pecan coffee, and just chatting with the hubs. Camden woke up from his nap and was SO excited to finally go to the zoo!! We went close to closing time so it wasn't nearly as packed as I expected it to be. Camden walked around that place like he OWNED it ha-ha He talked non stop and was just so animated. I laughed the entire time and soaked it all in. We got home around 5 and Camden and I played outside some more while Matt grilled steaks for dinner. After dinner, Camden and I took a shower, put him down, I cut Matt's hair, got things ready for the week, and read for a little bit before going upstairs. Definitely one of my favorite weekends ever <3
...no outfit is complete without something on it, whether it's food or boogers or markers or whatever
...worrying 24/7 ...putting everyone's needs and wants before your own - ALL THE TIME. ...loving a little person more than you ever thought possible ...never getting enough sleep ...doing things you always said you'd 'never do' ...picking your battles (and let me tell ya - there are some battles I always said I'd fight but have realized that it's just not worth it and just not healthy for any of us ha-ha) ...that there will always be dirty dishes and laundry - ALWAYS ...doing whatever you have to in order to distract your kid so a total meltdown doesn't happen ...always sharing your food, water...pretty much anything - if it's 'yours' your kid wants it ...making mistakes. ...making hard decisions ...always feeling stretched thin ...never being alone ...lots and lots of cuddles ...experiencing things all over again through your child(ren)'s eyes, which is incredible and amazing ...you don't take the simple things in life for granted ...sleeping in is 7am and staying up late is 10pm And guess what? I wouldn't change ANY of it. |
